WHAT TO EXPECT
From the first moment you call or step into the studio, we strive to make every client feel welcomed and understand our love for creating lasting memories with portraits.
Melissa Kelly Imagery specializes in fine art portraiture of babies, children, families and high school seniors. We pride ourselves in not just creating fine art portraiture, but capturing an overall memorable experience.
Our newborn sessions are scheduled at our relaxing studio with a private parking lot for you convenience and easy front door entrance. In addtion, we have many designer props and backgrounds to make your newborn's session special and unique. During our newborn sessions, we offer a comfortable, quite environment that will allow you to relax from all the stresses of becoming a new parent. Our studio will be approximately 85 degrees to keep your baby warm and comfortable. There is always someone assisting while we photograph your newborn baby. Our utmost concern is the safety of your baby while in a bucket or bowl. Approximately two weeks after your session, you will have a private in studio viewing of your images. Clients can expect their fine art portaiture products to arrive3-4 weeks after their order has been placed.
Children's sessions may be scheduled in the studio or on location. We seek to find each child's individuality and personality. We try to capture every expression, focusing on what is unique and special. Approximately 2 weeks after your session, you will have a private in studio viewing of your images. Clients can expect their fine art portaiture products to arrive 3-4 weeks after their order has been placed.
Our high school senior sessions are like no other! We pride ourselves in finding unique locations and backgrounds to reflect each senior's personality and style. We pride ourselves on the senior experience and ensuring that the session is as unique as the senior themselves! Our senior clients receive a free Senior Consultation appointment. This allows us to get to know your senior and give us a better understanding of what he or she would like from their portrait session. High school senior clients also receive our free Senior Style Guide to help prepare for their upcoming portrait session. Clients can expect their fine art portaiture products to arrive 3-4 weeks after their order has been placed.
INVESTMENT
We offer both traditional print portrait sessions and digital image portrait sessions. With traditional portraiture we will retouch and print to give you a timeless, high quality piece of art. Our prints are mounted, textured and printed at competition density to look great under any lighting and will give you the quality to last a lifetime. With digital image sessions, you still receive the look and art of Melissa Kelly Imagery, but we give you a digital image print release that allows you to print and email the work of Melissa Kelly Imagery. High School Senior Sessions start at $75. This includes the artist, Melissa Kelly's time and talent, retouching the images, color corrections and a private studio viewing. All of our High School Senior Clients recieve our Senior Style Guide to help prepare for their session and a Senior Consultation to help us capture the personality and style of your senior! Each Senior Session is fun, unique, personalized and offers outfit changes as well as different locations!
Family Sessions start at $125. This includes the photographer's time and talent, retouching the images, color corrections and a private in studio viewing. For clients that live greater than one hour from Melissa Kelly Imagery, we do offer an online viewing for your convenience.
Newborn/Children's Sessions start at $50. This includes the photographer's time and talent, tons of designer props and backdrops to customize your session, color corrections, retouching the images and a private in studio viewing. Melissa always has an assistant during Newborn Sessions to ensure your baby is safe while in a bucket or bowl. We also offer a private parking lot with convenient door side parking.
Your paid session fee will reserve your time on our studio schedule. Because sessions book out in advance, session fees are non-refundable.

FAQ'S
What Should I Wear?
Solid Colors in neutral tones work best for portraits. Our goal is to focus on the expression and features rather than the clothes, so try to stay away from patterns. That being said, I do enjoy a pop of color! This could be a necklace or accessory. For example, think of it as an accent color in a room in your home. One wall of a pop of color looks really nice, but it may be overwhelming if all 4 walls were painted that same pop of color. Classic clothes will remain in style for years and are a great option. How Will I See My Portraits?
Approximately two weeks after your session, you will be viewing and choosing your portraits at the studio. You will first watch a a beautiful story telling slideshow presentation of your images. We will then help you choose the best decisions based on your needs. Because we will be choosing your images, we like to make sure that all the decision makers will be present at the time of the viewing. In addition, we do have an online gallery available for clients that live greater than one hour from Melissa Kelly Imagery.
How Do I Book A Session?
Please call the studio at 316.266.4659. All sessions are pre-paid at the time of booking. Please note, that we have limited amount of sessions and times available, so please call early to reserve your date and time. We would also like to book your Client Viewing Appointment at that time, so please have your calendar and credit card ready.
How Do I Get There?
Melissa Kelly Imagery is conveniently located in downtown Wichita at 557 S. Topeka. Please take Highway 54 (Kellogg) to the Central Business District Exit. We are located on the northwest corner of Topeka and Dewey. Our studio is located in a very urban old motel, but is completely renovated for your comfort on the inside. This location allows us greater conveniece to capture portraits in an urban or a landscape setting.
What Is An "On Location Session?
Most of our sessions are done at our studio in downtown Wichita. However, at your request, we can do a photoshoot at a location of your choice, such as your home, a park, downtown, or any other place you can thnk of (if it is a business or privately owned, pleased be advised that we will need prior approval 7 days before your session), but if you do not have a particular location in mind, don't worry! We have a ton of locations where we love to phtograph our clients!
Family portraits may also be captured on location or in the studio. We believe in capturing the special relationships between family members. Whether it be focusing on the parents, a parent and child, sibilings, or grandparents, each session is designed to be unique, interactive and a casual evironment, where your family is most comfortable.
